Interior Blowers
The function
The interior blower in a truck is the component responsible for moving air through the HVAC system and into the cabin. It is typically located inside the dashboard or HVAC housing and uses an electric motor to spin a fan (or squirrel cage). This fan draws air from outside or recirculates cabin air, pushing it across the heater core or evaporator depending on whether heating or cooling is selected.
In heavy-duty trucks, the blower plays a critical role in maintaining cabin comfort by ensuring strong and consistent airflow. It directly affects how effectively the AC or heater performs, since without proper airflow the system cannot distribute conditioned air evenly. A well-functioning blower helps maintain visibility by supporting defogging and defrosting of windows, while a failing unit can result in weak airflow, noise, or complete loss of climate control inside the cabin.
