Compressors
The function
The AC compressor for trucks is the main driving force of the air conditioning system. It compresses low-pressure refrigerant gas into a high-pressure, high-temperature gas and circulates it through the AC system. Powered by the engine via a belt or clutch, the compressor ensures continuous refrigerant movement so the cooling cycle can operate properly. Without it, the system cannot generate cold air for the cabin.
In heavy-duty trucks, the compressor is designed to handle long operating hours and demanding conditions. After compressing the refrigerant, it sends it to the condenser where heat is released. A properly functioning compressor is essential for strong and consistent cooling performance, especially during long-distance driving or high-temperature environments. If it fails, the entire AC system stops working efficiently, leading to poor cabin comfort and increased driver fatigue.
