The YangWang U8 is a Hybrid with 4 cylinder 2.0 petrol engine charges the battery pack of 49.05-kWh. The model has four 299-hp electric motors, one per wheel. Total output: 1,196 hp and 1,280 Nm. The nearly 3.5-ton U8 speeds to 100 km/h in 3.6 seconds.
BYD has a complete range of PHEV models and showed growth in 2024 in this segment. Their sales in Plug-in Hybrids increased substantially: it sold 2.5 million vehicles , a growth of 73%. The BYD mix changed as a result: 60% PHEV and 40% BEV. BYD already has its model line up on steam with the cheaper Ocean series (including Dolphin and Seal). Extended BYD program to be launched in 2025
