The new BYD model Atto-2 is again a price fighter and offers another choice for car buyers.
The Ocean range of BYD was already very complete, with the Dolphin, Seal, Seal-U (SUV), Sealion, Seagull, Atto-3 and covers the volume segments. In the business range it offers the Tang. The newly introduced Atto-2 and coming soon model Seal-X will complete the BYD brand for 2025. And can shake (and wake) up competition. BYD offers a complete (PHEV) range now, while Tesla lacks the right model range. Simply: the market demands PHEV, while Tesla only offers BEV.
BYD could turn out to be the great game changer in e-mobility with its large range of Plug-in Hybrids and Full Electrics. BYD controls its own battery manufacturing and has its own ships. We can expect a low price level. And we can expect that other car makers will drop prices in 2025 to push their e-mobility cars. They have no choice, BYD will press them and the EU will chase them with large penalties if their mix of sold cars shows a high CO2 emission figure.
This year we can expect many new BYD models. Under “BYD” brand and other, new BYD brands such as Denza, Fang Cheng Bao (FCB) and YangWang.
