Afraid of the electrified future?

Afraid of the electrified future? Fear for no longer selling oil filters in your business?

No worries! even a Tesla Model Y has an oil filter (or 2), and yes: it has to be replaced! Even in the absence of an ICE engine. And no, it has nothing to do with the electric motor. It is only 2/3rd of the normal size of an oil filter. Of course, if there is a rear-drive transmission, you have to replace two oil filters. Suspicious?

Indeed: training on EVs is now becoming really compulsory. You might learn that you can still sell oil filters in the future! In the case of a Model Y, the oil filter relates to the gearbox, which needs oil and filtration to keep the transmissions running ‘smoothly’. It does not choke the moving parts, but only circulates grease. The oil used in the Tesla gearbox is synthetic, ‘Pentosin ATF 9’ and normally does not reallydegrade, so by default it should not be changed (unless many workshops do… (!). This applies both to the front drive and, if applied, also to the rear drive. Official Tesla Flate Rate Times (FRT): Front 0.84 and Rear: 0.72, so you can sell manpower too!

The NRF part number for this NRF INNOVATION RANGE oil filter (Tesla Model Y ’21à) is 250001.
